This year’s Ultimate Travel Photography Workshop, held in May onboard the MV Explorer cruise ship as part of the Enrichment Voyages program (an extension of the Semester at Sea study-abroad program) was a HUGE success, with over 20 photographers learning the travel photography trade from two veteran, global-charging professional photographers, HSW’s Michael Mariant and former Los Angeles Times photojournalist Spencer Weiner.
We’ll cut straight to the show but be sure to read the background on the course curriculum and port stops below the video!
NOTE: WE’VE BEEN TOLD BY ENRICHMENT VOYAGES THAT IF YOU WANT TO ATTEND THE TRAVEL WORKSHOP NEXT YEAR, YOU NEED TO BOOK WITHIN THE NEXT MONTH AS THEY ANTICIPATE THAT ALL THE CABINS WILL BE BOOKED BY MID-JANUARY!
The workshop this year was broken into two separate 2-week segments, with each segment having a separate and distinct course curriculum. For the first two week segment, the workshop curriculum focused on the traditional model of travel photography, including people, places and details of the in-country experience in each of the voyages’ amazing ports: Monte Carlo, Monacco; Livorno, Italy; Cadiz, Spain; Casablanca, Morocco; and Lisbon, Portugual.
At the conclusion of the workshop segment, a final show of the workshop participants work is shown to the entire shipboard community, with a concluding thundering applause that was 600-strong!
