While the website has a wealth of information for your workshop planning, we also have extensive pre-workshop discussions and planning on our SlickPic-hosted forums. A couple months before the workshop start date, registered participants receive an email invite to the specific workshop event page where the forums are located. Forum topics include carpooling, travel details, and preparatory academic discussions to ensure everyone is primed for the course!
The Workshop Forums also host the Workshop Galleries! Several weeks after the course has concluded (allowing time to review & edit your images), all registered participants are invited to share their photographs. The review of not only your work but also that of your fellow student's work is important in academic growth as it can foster additional critique and analysis of one's own work. Plus, your instructors provide additional critique of images in the gallery.
High Sierra Workshop's has a dedicated Director of Student Resources, Dawn Schoennauer, available to answer questions and provide assistance with sponsor support. Dawn is the architect behind our SlickPic-hosted Workshop Forums and Galleries. As all HSW students receive a free SlickPic account, Dawn provides directions for sharing images on the dedicated workshop event page as well as creating your own personal showcase galleries of photographs within the SlickPic site.
